Pastoral care provides spiritual and religious support for patients, families, friends and staff at CMH. Anyone is welcome to speak with the Pastoral Care Coordinator (PCC) and the PCC and chaplains also make visits to offer pastoral care to those who wish.
In addition, the PCC can contact community clergy and faith group leaders.
Pastoral Service and Chapel
The Chapel is available for private prayer and meditation at all times.
There is an On-Call Chaplaincy Service, which is available to people of all faiths 24 hours a day, seven days a week to attend to any acute pastoral care situation or request.
Ecumenical Worship Services are held weekly for patients and their families. Hospital Memorial Services are held three times per year to honour the memory of those people who have died in our hospital.
Clinical Pastoral Education Programs, both extended and intensive units, are offered at CMH for men and women in seminary, or for those who are pursuing ministry as a professional chaplain.
Pastoral Care Volunteers visit patients who are of their own faith group.
Colleen Lashmar, the Pastoral Care Coordinator, may be reached at 621-2333 ext. 2124 or by pager through switchboard.
