Thursday, February 3, 2022

Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in consultation with the Region of Waterloo Public Health, has declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Inpatient Surgery Unit (Wing B, level 3). The outbreak was first declared on January 7, 2022. There has not been a new case of COVID-19 in that unit for the past 10 days.

In total, nine patients and 10 staff contracted the virus.

Enhanced cleaning measures, safety audits and the added staff-only spaces for breaks remain in place. Visitor restrictions remain 100% virtual as there are still two active outbreaks within the hospital:

  • The Rehabilitation Unit outbreak was declared over on February 2
