Professional staff available to work with you includes nurse psychotherapists, social workers, psychologists, social workers, psychologists, recreation therapists, occupation therapists, psychiatrists and support staff. Services include:

Child and Family Services
Provides assessment and counseling to persons 17 years of age and younger with psychiatric and emotional difficulties, and their families. Counseling may be provided on an in individual, family or group basis.

Adult Services
Services to individuals over 17 years of age who have mood, anxiety and adjustment disorders.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Services to adults who have a serious and persistent mental illness. Includes assessment, case management, group programs and recreation and leisure therapy.

Seniors Mental Health Services
Assessment and treatment for people over 65 years of age that have a deteriorating complex health condition that includes mental, physical and/or behavioural difficulties. Services are primarily provided through home visits and visits to long-term care facilities.

Mental Health Day Hospital
Short term, primarily group based day program for adults over the age of 18 with a mental health diagnosis. A variety of group therapy is provided Monday –Friday from 9:30am- 3:00pm with opportunities for individual sessions as needed. The day hospital recently opened in 2012 and is currently accepting internal referrals with plans to expand in the future.

Mental Health Transition Unit (5B):
In April 2003, CMH opened a 10-bed transition mental health unit. This new unit is enabling the hospital to provide mental health programming to patients requiring psychiatric treatment and who in the past were admitted to the medical units. The transition mental health unit is the first building block towards the hospital's 23-bed Schedule 1 mental health facilty, scheduled to open when CMH's interim capital project is complete in 2005. In the meantime, CMH will continue to access services in psychiatric facilities in other communities when intensive or specialized services are required to treat patients.

Directions:

Outpatient Clinic: Enter from Ambulatory Care entrance, turn left, take silver elevators to 3rd floor, turn right into Community Mental Health Clinic.

Inpatient Unit: Enter at main entrance, turn right, pass Tim Horton's. Go to 1st set of elevators. Take to 5th floor, go straight and then turn left into Inpatient Mental Health Unit (note: call 5210 before visiting family and friends).

Emergency Services:

Emergency Mental Health Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through Cambridge Memorial Hospital’s emergency department, which provides emergency assessment and crisis intervention.
