CMH, in consultation with the Region of Waterloo Public Health, has declared an enteric outbreak on Wing B, Level 4, Inpatient Mental Health and Medicine A Units. As a result of this declaration, visitor restrictions of one visitor per patient is in effect immediately and will continue until the there are no new cases for five days. The symptoms for this illness include vomiting and diarrhea. At this time, the outbreak has impacted patients. The rest of the hospital is not affected.

How to protect yourself:
- Your best protection is to clean your hands.
- Wear protective personal equipment. Remember to wear a mask and eye protection if patient is vomiting.
- Do not share food and do not eat or drink in the affected patient's room.
Signage has been posted at entrances and on Inpatient Mental Health and Medicine A. Cleaning and disinfection of the environment will be enhanced in these areas.
