Liver Awareness Foundation launches the Early Signals Initiative with CMH Regional Liver Health Centre as the first participating clinic

Liver Awareness Foundation is launching the Early Signals Initiative, an education effort designed to open a stigma free conversation with young adults about liver risks and spotlight factors that can potentially contribute to conditions such as alcohol associated liver disease and fatty liver disease. Many early behavioural and coping patterns that influence liver health often go unnoticed until meaningful damage has already begun. Early Signals brings forward resources that help young adults understand these risks sooner and feel confident asking the right questions during care.
The Early Signals Initiative strengthens early liver health awareness for young adults and provides frontline clinical teams with clear, accessible, and evidence informed educational tools that give young adults a clear and actionable picture of lifestyle related liver risks.
Cambridge Memorial Hospital’s Liver Health Clinic will be the first participating clinic to receive the Early Signals Resource Package. These materials highlight the connection between mental health factors, emotional distress, and coping habits that have been linked to behaviours that may contribute to liver damage, offering young adults information they can understand at a glance.
