Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) is investing in a new electronic patient record system to support safer, better connected care. The system launches on November 8, 2026, bringing important patient information together to help our teams care for you.

Patient care is our first priority throughout this change. Our teams have spent months preparing, taking training and testing the system. Additional support will be available around the clock as they begin using it. You may experience some delays during this transition, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

What is changing?

CMH is introducing a new electronic patient record, powered by Oracle Health. It replaces several separate systems and much of our paper documentation with a more connected record of your care.

The system is shared with Waterloo Regional Health Network. This will help care teams at both hospitals access the information they need when caring for you.

How will this benefit patients?

The new system will bring information such as medications, test results and care plans together in one place. This will help your care team see important details about your health, make informed decisions and coordinate your care.

A shared record will also help information follow you when you receive care at CMH and Waterloo Regional Health Network. Over time, these improvements will support a smoother experience for patients and families.

Could my care take longer during the transition?

You may experience longer waits or find that some steps in your visit take more time as our teams put their training into practice.

Our teams will continue to focus on your care and safety. Additional staff and system experts will be on site to answer questions, resolve issues and help care providers use the new system.

Are staff trained to use the system?

Staff and physicians have been taking training tailored to the work they do. Required training must be completed before they begin using the system. They will also have support from specially trained colleagues and technical and clinical experts, available around the clock during the launch.

Will my health information remain private?

Protecting your privacy remains a priority. Access to patient information is based on a person’s role and their need for that information to provide care or do their work. The system tracks access to patient records, helping us monitor appropriate use.
